Former Belle just released a new song from their upcoming album, Cathedral, which is fantastic and heartbreaking all in one. “Better Off” leads with lines such as,”there’s something going wrong, it’s only in my head.” The lyrics are conflicting and raw, you can really feel the internal struggle.
Who knew how evocative one could be with brushed percussion, a soft bass line, and crooning vocals?

Heads Up Philadelphia: Former Belle live on 104.5
One of our favorite local acts will be playing live on the airwaves today and we’ve got all the information you need.
Former Belle is a folk-rock three piece that have been exploding with popularity as of late. Bruno, their lead singer, has infectious energy and turns the stage alive. Today, the guys will be on 104.5 as part of the station‘s Live @ 5 series that promotes local acts each and every Friday evening.
We’ll be there in the audience so, you can probably catch me on this thing. FormerBelle are in the middle of recording and laying down their upcoming album. With plans to embark next month on their European tour with Peasant, I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot of news.

One of my pretty recent favorites has been ‘Identity’ by Milan Kundera - also the author of ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’, i suggest you pick up both! beautiful, beautiful. I’m also a huge Salinger fan- I’ve made sure to own all of his published works. Always will be a huge favorite of mine. One of the few novels by Chuck Klosterman called ‘Downtown Owl’ was incredible, I really love that book. I also recommend any Raymond Carver short stories you can get your hands on. I have ‘Where I’m calling from’ and it’s had me hooked ever since. I’m reading my first Hermann Hesse book right now called, ‘Demian’ which I am getting more and more into. I definitely suggest picking that one up also! I hope this is a good starter list! I love collecting books, let me know if you’ve read through these or would like more recommendations in the future! I’ve been sleeping awkwardly.
